Our Story

In 2014, Liz’s friend Maranda jokingly asked Liz to officiate her wedding during a dinner discussing her engagement. After some moments of laughter, Maranda seriously asked Liz to become ordained and officiate her wedding because of her background in writing and public speaking. She laughed, went home, and then immediately started Googling what the task would involve. The following day at work, Liz’s friend shared news that he was going to propose to his boyfriend but was already having difficulty finding vendors for their wedding because of their sexuality.

When digging around the internet, it was apparent to Liz that the wedding industry severely lacked openness and understanding for those identifying as LGBTQ.
